Dear Students, Parents, and Respected Members of the Community, It is an honour to address you in my capacity as Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Swat. With more than two decades of academic, research, and leadership experience, I remain steadfast in my commitment to positioning UEAS as a hub of innovation, academic distinction, and forward-looking education. The challenges of the modern world demand a new generation of engineers—capable of solving multifaceted problems through interdisciplinary thinking. UEAS is dedicated to nurturing such individuals. The academic environment here encourages inquiry, resilience, and creativity. Through comprehensive training, both in academics and co-curricular activities, students are empowered to evolve into leaders and entrepreneurs with a clear understanding of national and global challenges. A central element of our strategy is to strengthen emerging disciplines that define the future. Accordingly, our curriculum is being realigned to include cutting-edge areas such as: Artificial Intelligence Cybersecurity Internet of Things (IoT) Cloud Computing Quantum Computing Climate Change Mitigation Technologies These fields are reshaping industries, economies, and societies. Equipping students with expertise in these domains ensures that they are ready to make meaningful contributions in a fast-evolving global landscape. We are also advancing digital transformation across the institution. Smart classrooms, data-driven decision-making, and intelligent systems are gradually becoming integral to the university’s operational framework. Additionally, the establishment of an efficient and dynamic Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) is underway. This initiative aims to bridge academia and industry, foster start-ups, and promote the commercialization of research outcomes. Inclusivity remains a cornerstone of our institutional philosophy. Targeted scholarships, leadership mentorships, and policy reforms are being developed to strengthen the role of women in STEM and ensure equitable opportunities for all. I extend a warm invitation to industry leaders, alumni, and local stakeholders to partner with us through seminars, innovation fairs, and collaborative platforms. Their insight and engagement are invaluable in shaping a stronger, more connected future for UEAS. Parents are encouraged to actively support and motivate their children, while students are urged to take full responsibility for their academic and personal growth. Education at UEAS goes beyond the transmission of knowledge—it is a transformative experience aimed at fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and leadership.
